Proclamation Trust instructed us and our sister company Copper Projects to undertake the structural alterations and fit out of a six-story building in Walworth, the objective was to transform a longstanding and tired commercial space into a fully functional teaching institution with lecture halls, seminar rooms, offices and adaptable break-out areas.
In order to achieve this our scope of works included the complete internal strip out of the building back to its shell and core, including demolition, structural alterations and steelwork to suit the new layout, risers and service run, redeveloping the structure of the building to achieve a bigger space. In addition to these works, our sister company Copper Projects completed the full specialist fit-out of the building to suit the new use as a teaching space.
This project has faced the additional challenge of working through the pandemic and a logistically challenging location in close proximity to the Elephant & Castle roundabout and neighbouring highroads. Despite the difficulties, the project was delivered on time and on budget achieving the target program.
